COVID - 19 Protocol
Dear Members,
We wanted to let you know some of the ways that we are creatively adapting to the situation. As you know, martial arts, especially Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, are uniquely challenged by the current health crisis. Much of what we do could put us at risk. However, we feel that by implementing the changes below, we are doing our utmost to ensure the safety of our members, our staff and their families, as well as our community. We will need to all work together to make it happen. Please do your own due diligence in order to understand the risks before attending our classes.
To adapt, we have made significant changes to the way we do things in order to add value to your memberships. We are using this opportunity to make the gym an even better place to train and reach your goals. Focusing on the class sizes and make up, cleaning protocols and the organization of the gym itself, we hope that you find our new world order comfortable, safe and productive.
Changes to the Environment
We have removed much of our indoor lounge space in order to create space for an enhanced boxing area, with top of the line boxing stands and various bag types, which can be utilized by any discipline and will benefit both the martial arts and fitness programs.
We are creating more outdoor seating to encourage those waiting for class, or those wanting to watch their children, friends or family, to do so in a safe manner, with fresh air and sunshine. We have always enjoyed the Air Purifier (GT 3000) in the main part of our gym, but will now also have (GT1500) Air Purifiers in each bathroom to help continuously clear the air within those closed environments.
We have further installed an increased number of touch less paper towel dispensers throughout the gym and disinfectant spray bottles with KenClean Plus cleaner solution, to allow members and staff to clean equipment after use. We also have more hand sanitizer dispensers at various locations throughout the gym
Our front desk personnel is working remotely for now, for any front desk related issues please email us at info@v7martialarts.com or send us a message through the V7 Martial Arts Facebook page. Also voicemails are welcome at (208) 596-4816, we’ll do our best to return your call in timely manner.
Changes to the Class Size and Make Up
As you have noticed, we have created small, closed-group classes. Each class will have one designated teacher that will be with that group and that group only. This will help keep the exposure to others minimal and traceable if that were ever needed.
Each small group class will have access to the entire 3000 square feet space to diversify the program and enhance social distancing
Small group class sizes will result in more one-on-one instruction, more similar to private classes and we are optimistic this will increase our members’ ability to progress
Cleaning Protocols
In the past we deep cleaned the entire gym once a day, and cleaned the mats and equipment 2- 3 times a day. We will now clean the mats and surfaces in between each class and will deep clean the gym 3 times a day
We will also help facilitate the clearing of the air in between each class through cross- ventilation with the doors open
Each night and during significant breaks between classes, we will use the ozone filter system on our air purifiers to clear the air more deeply
We also change the air conditioning filters monthly, using the highest rate filtration filters available
What You Can Do to Help
Please be mindful of your health and those of your family members. If you or anyone in your family are feeling under the weather, please abstain from attending classes for 14 days or until you or your family member has been tested for Covid-19 to ensure the safety of your group and their families, as well as our instructors.
Arrive to class close to your class start time and please plan on departing the building shortly after your class to allow the instructors and cleaning crew time to air out, clean and disinfect the space for the next class. We have provided outdoor seating for continued conversations at a safe distance.
We are now encouraging the use of sport masks during training. These new masks are made of polyurethane open cell foam, the masks are designed to retain humidity from perspiration and heavy breathing and yet remain effective.
Anyone visiting the gym not for training reasons, will be asked to wear a mask. We have a surgical face mask dispenser available at our main entrance.
Above all, we are trying to do everything within our power to ensure our members feel safe, productive, healthy and confident. As you are at V7 we want you to fully enjoy your experience. Together we can get through this stronger, healthier and more united, if we each do our part.
