FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What should I wear for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes?

For your first class, regular exercise clothes with no zippers or buttons are fine. Later on a gi will be required. A pair of flip flops are also required as we go bare foot on the main martial arts mats, but wear flip flops around the main gym floor.

How much is the drop in fee?

V7 does not charge drop in fees. Everyone is welcome to try a free class. Those visiting from out of town please stop by and train with us free of charge. If you are a group please inquire ahead of time.

Do you offer private classes?

We offer private classes for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Functional Fitness, Mixed Martial Arts, Karate, Self-Defense and Judo. These classes are ideal for those individuals with tight schedules, or those individuals that want even more personalized attention.

What is your Open Mats | Open Box policy?

Open mats or Open box workouts are available for members only. In order to participate on open mats, members should already be attending regular classes. This is a great time to review techniques or squeeze in a missed WOD.

V7 BASIC GUIDELINES

Functional Fitness

Out of consideration for others and sanitary reasons, please train with clean clothes. For those that transition from one class to another, please bring extra clothes in order to start your next session fresh.

For safety, always follow your coach’s instructions. Especially in the beginning, focus on good form rather than heavy weight loads.

Always be mindful of others and keep load drops to a minimum; only allowing drops for safety purposes.

Know your limits. The coach is there to assist you in choosing scaling options to best suit your needs.

Please refrain from coaching others during your sessions and let the coach be the guide.

Martial Arts

V7 Martial Arts’ approved Gi colors are white and blue.

Although we go barefoot on the martial arts practice mats, sandals are required on the main gym floor.

Out of respect for others, tshirts, or Gis are required at all times. Gis should be washed before every practice.

During MMA and Karate training, hands should be wrapped and gloves worn.

As with any contact sport, it is important to maintain body hygiene. Please keep nails trimmed and refrain from training when experiencing any potentially contagious symptoms.

Each specific martial arts discipline follows unique rules. Please inquire with the head coach for further information.
